The accent wall that we have in here is not only pretty but functional. I love how contemporary this space actually looks - we are seeing a lot of edges in here - which could actually work in any house but this one seems different. I like the chairs, the buffet and dining table and the black things we see in here - the large planter, the drum pendant lamp and the large mirror! What do you say? Yay or nay?

We have a list that will be showcasing a couple of dining rooms that use red chairs as accents - or that special kind of seat in the entire arrangement. We see a lot of combination in chair designs or chair colors in a dining set and I think that using a red chair or any color different from the most chairs there are makes a whole lot of difference.

Apart from offering textural contrast inside the modern bathroom, a live‐ edge vanity top can also be a smart space saver when placed in the corner of a tiny powder room where every inch matters. Since you do not need too much storage or even counter space, a small slab of wood will do the trick, and combined with the right sink and plumbing, you can create a wide range of styles that vary from industrial to rustic. Sconce lighting next to the mirror or a simple pendant light along with the frame of the mirror used in the powder room can define this style and reinforce it with ease.

Though you‘ll save money by creating walls from sheets of acrylic, cultured marble, or solid‐ surfacing, you‘ll produce more interesting perimeters and floors if you work with ceramic, stone, glass, or marble tiles. Use varying sizes and shades of the same type of tile to create contrasting borders, fetching niches, and mosaic murals on shower walls. For natural interest underfoot, install river rock or pebbled tile floors. Arrange inexpensive ceramic tiles (in a monochromatic mix or a bold blend) on the walls above a prefab shower unit or across the walls of a walk‐ in cubicle.

A gray bathroom gives you plenty of design flexibility, and by keeping the backdrop neutral, you can alter the appeal of the space by simply changing the accent additions. This allows you to switch between the hottest colors of the season with ease, and you can do so with minimal fuss and in a cost‐ effective fashion. Beating the boredom of winter, complementing the breezy allure of summer and fitting in with the effervescence of spring and fall, yellow accents in the gray bathroom simply never fail.

You can build a shower that suits any setting or opt for prefabricated shower kits (many newer models come equipped with multiple showerheads, steam options, water jets, and stereo equipment) that are installed on site. These showers are accessed via pivot doors, which swing outward, or bifold or neo‐ angled doors with two panels hinged in the center that work well on corner showers.

The plantation-style shutters are a sleek addition, too, which ties in with the scheme. An old wooden corner cupboard is handy for displaying smart toiletries. The slanted ceilings of an attic lend a magical feel to any space. They can be a little tricky for a bathroom, as there’s not much space to install a shower. However, a beautiful freestanding, claw-foot bath will more than make up for the lack of shower. Placed centrally between the eaves and beneath a window, this is the ideal spot for a tub.
